LASER RESURFACING
ResurFX®
Fractional non-ablative laser skin resurfacing is an effective anti-aging treatment that provides overall skin rejuvenation without causing injury to the top layer of skin and with minimal downtime. Lumenis ResurFX® laser is non-ablative technology and uses an advanced scanner, which enables more than 600 combinations of shapes, sizes and densities for optimal treatment results. ResurFX® only requires one pass, unlike other fractional lasers requiring multiple passes, which increases time, discomfort and risk for excess injury to the skin.
Several micro-columns of heat energy are delivered into the skin without ablating or cutting the surface of the skin. This causes the skin to repair itself by removing damaged skin cells, breaking down scar tissue and stimulating new collagen and healthy skin cells. This results in smoother, tighter, more even skin, giving a youthful appearance. Typically, 3-5 treatments about one month apart are necessary to obtain optimum results, although this varies by the individual and their goal.
This procedure can take up to 1-1.5 hours depending on the size of the treatment area. Both our board-certified dermatologist and licensed aesthetician collaborate using this device.
ResurFX® treats:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Acne and surgical scars
Stretch marks
Signs of sun damage
Some forms of hyperpigmentation
Textural irregularities
What to expect:
A topical anesthetic is applied prior to treatment.

Next, you will naturally exfoliate as new skin replaces dead tissue.
Contraindications:
Sun exposure for 2-4 weeks before and after treatment
Active fever blisters or open wounds in the treatment area
Accutane within last 6 months
Inflammatory skin conditions at treatment site
History of keloids
Pregnancy

CoolPeel® / Tetra CO2
Fractional ablative laser skin resurfacing is an effective anti-aging treatment that provides overall skin rejuvenation. We are able to maximize results with minimal downtime. The CoolPeel® is a laser setting on Cartessa’s Tetra CO2 that allows for a fully-ablative treatment without causing thermal damage to surrounding tissue. Without thermal damage, downtime is drastically minimized. At the same time, the system delivers impressive superficial, skin-resurfacing results. The Tetra CO2 removes top layers of skin tissue and stimulates the regeneration of healthy skin underneath. New collagen is formed and elastin is tightened for long-lasting benefits.
The Tetra is amongst the newest and most advanced CO2 technologies available as it features more operating settings so providers can better customize the intensity, depth and shape of the laser energy. This unmatched versatility means treatments are even and more precise, optimizing results and minimizing side effects and unnecessary downtime.
